I know I'm still relatively new here, but this seems like a good place to vent. Especially since anyone close to me hasn't been told what's happening so it's difficult to talk to them.

Any of the girls here had miscarriages? I am currently going through miscarriage number 4. For some reason my doctor did not deem it necessary previous to this m/c to set me up with some tests to see what the fuck is wrong with me. I guess he will now... yay for that. The story is, I have a 3 year old daughter. Didn't have much trouble conceiving her or having her other than some minor hitches towards the end. Since then, I got divorced from her father - Thank God, and been in a serious relationship for more than 2 years with a guy I've known since I was about 18... (I'm 25 going on 26 now). This will be our fourth miscarriage in a year. Don't know if it's me or him and at this point, I don't really care. I feel like a massive failure and/or a loser.

I really wish I had some marijuana right now.

4 miscarriages in a year? perhaps you should try some birth control for a while. Obviously as a man I don't have first hand experience with this however I do know that the female reproductive system needs time to recover after a birth (or miscarriage) before everything is working right. My first wife miscarried two months after the birth of my first daughter because her womb was "not ready" or at least that was what the docs said. The good news is that after 6 months she got preggers again and we went on to have two more lovely daughters.

Perhaps you are trying too hard. not to sound critical, but give yourself some time (6 months maybe even a year) and try again. And DEFINITELY see a OB/Gyn and have some tests ruin, you may have other problems causing the miscarriages.

Good luck I hope it works out for you.

Well, it's been about a year. The first one didn't miscarry til the second trimester which was pretty traumatic. Then the second one was a slip up right after the first one so we felt like that wasn't going to work out since it was so soon after the first, and we were right. Then we waited about 3 or 4 months and it happened again. Last one before this was in October and I felt that October-Feb was a long enough time to recover and the doctor gave the go ahead.

We're being referred to a fertility specialist on Monday to run the tests. Before now, my doctor has not felt they were necessary for some reason and I haven't been able to get booked with a specialist without a referral from my OB. Hopefully this referral will shed some light on what is going on. I can't help but think there is some weird incompatibility between he and I. I hope not, of course.

Thanks for your opinion though.

And Mark, thanks for your reply. My SO has had a hard time with each one and I believe that men go through the motions just as women do, just a little differently. I appreciate it though.

Im sorry to hear that you are having problems conceiving. I tried for over a year a couple of years ago (back when I thought I actually wanted children with my husband) and found out that I can not conceive naturally. It hurt, alot. Made me rethink everything. Im glad I have not been able to have children yet because I can now see that the man im with right now is not the one I should have a child with.

Im not saying anything to bash you and your SO just that maybe, in a little time, you will see that maybe its been best that you werent able to have any yet.

Hope the best for you.

That's not good at all.

My mom had 3 and a close friend had one, and I see the strain it puts on people and the relationships.

I can't really give advice.. but can be here to listen.
