so. i've been trying to avoid downloading silverlight based on my general disgruntlement with microshit, but it's starting to become apparent that i may not be able to avoid it much longer. does anyone know of any actual reason not to dl it? (spy or somethin? iunno).

Because it's a huge waste of space/time/RAM, from what I can see. Why the need to download it now?

It'll run much more smoothly if you delete you win32 folder

Silverlight is fast becoming the web standard to replace things like flash player and quicktime if i remember rightly, its just a media platform...

I boycotted Silverlight from day one.

It's typical Microsoft "too late to the mark" game (like bing.. what a fail).
If I absolutely positively HAVE TO (like to enter some shitty MS competition I know I won't win), I uninstall it as soon as I leave the page.

Flash/Java/etc are still winning. Hell, there are sites that still use Shockwave.

It's funny that you're slating microsoft for being "too late to the mark" and here you are.
