Last weekend I did the boil on my American Red Ale extract kit. It was my first time using a liquid yeast, and I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed. I had VIOLENT churning for the first few days. The currents actually eroded most of the trub that had accumulated at the bottom during the first night before fermentation started.

After I soaked my primary with some PBW for a few hours, I was ready to get started on my Blue Moon clone. This smells so amazing. Delicious and creamy, I'm pretty excited about it. I built a high-flow airlock as I've read that wheat krausen has some impressive staying power, and gets big. Here it is at 24 hours(last night) and this morning, the krausen had gone up through the airlock and my jar is now full of sanitizer and yeast/proteins. It'll spend all 3 weeks in this carboy(witbiers don't need to clarify), then get bottled.

Quite ironic that one of the demi-johns says do not bump on it...
