Job I love pays me 10-20k less than I could earn at another job.

Which one do I take? :squint:

depends. do you have a family? if you do take the money. if not, go for what makes you happy. you may not know such happiness and freedom forever.

There's all these little factors you have to take into account. My ex graduated law school and instead decided, what the fuck, he'd be a music teacher (his undergrad was liberal arts/music). His co-workers were so agitating to him that, even though he loves the IDEA of the job, he was the most miserable person ever.

i've been unemployed for like 2 and half years now because i just love not working. as such (plus my financial means are obviously well endowed) I advise doing nothing that I advise.

hence, go with the job the love. i read somewhere that most millionaire entrepreneurs made all their money because it was something they loved.

life is enough of a rat race, why compound it by doing something that sucks?

Take the happiness one. I know i don't really get a say considering I'm 16, but if you're making enough money now and you're happy don't move. If you need need the money go, but otherwise stay.

I moved jobs once thinking i wasn't happy, and the new one with more money sucked, so I went back..

fuck that, take the money. a job is something that you do 8 hours a day. Learn not to take it home, take the money and run. 20K/year means the difference between a house and an apartment.

2 quotes:
1.) who ever said money is the root of evil has never been poor, they have never known the joy of a welfare christmas --- Some song I heard.
2.)Money can't buy you happiness, but it can get you in to the places where you can find it on your own..... --- Me

Before you take a job that pays less I think you should think long and hard about a Porsche 911 Turbo.

Then also think of how many "lap dances" you can get at that shady strip club in town that seems to still be in business despite all of the illegal prostitution busts they've encountered.

If that's the case then I'd tend to stick with the evil you know rather than the evil you don't.

but then again you might love it... My last job switch was like that. Half the responsibility, almost twice the money, great environment, great benefits
...and not just the insurance plan either if you know what I mean :pedo:

All things considered I wouldn't trade my job for anything...well except for a job making more money

I'll agree with the "don't change" crowd, but if and only if you are certain that the new job would suck. A few things to consider:

1) A full-time job takes up a large part of your precious waking hours. If you hate your job, you'll get back home very evening obsessing about how to best use the little leisure time you have left. You'll get stressed out.

2) A full-time job takes up a large part of your precious waking hours. If you love your job, you're among the few lucky people who get paid to do something they enjoy for most of the day. This alone is awesome. Then, at the end of the day, you get back home happy and can have some more fun doing other stuff you like.

3) Money. Yeah, money is important, blah blah, only idiots and/or hippies ramble on about how money doesn't matter. This is true to an extent. "A little money" is undeniably better than "no money", but it's a closer call than most people think between "a little money" and "a little more money". I'd say this is far outweighed by the difference between "job you like" and "job you don't like". You got a place to live, a car, food and extra dough to spend on whatever you like? Then you're more fortunate than many.

anyone who says for love is a faggot, work is work I'd rather make 100k as a janitor [yea I know janitors don't make that much that's not the point] then 80k as an underwear model
